In as much as you've done it to the least of these my brethren, you've done it to me...

What is some of the most helpful and encouraging charity work you've been involved in or heard about in the realm of carpet cleaning? Do you have any ideas of ways you'd like to use your business to serve others outside of the typical paid services?

Some prefer to do good deeds privately and I respect that. But for the sake of stirring one another up, please share...

I enjoyed my experiences at Mikey fests cleaning the Ronald McDonald houses and turned that into doing a charity cleaning in my town for a charity that helps primarily new, single mothers. I ended up getting more paid work from that than the freebies I offer annually .

I believe in advertising thru philanthropy meaning that i could take say 2000.00 and throw it at the great advertising market/industry and really not know if it has done anything or any good. what I've done is spent/ gave it to charity for a public acknowledgement and know at the very least someone has benefited. For instance i am the founder of the fort bragg food bank turkey challenge where myself and one or two like minded businesses put up 2000.00 each to match donations of 200.00 or more. When the food bank decided to take it over and run it in house that year my little turkey challenge brought in 20k in just under 3 weeks another thing ive done in the past is donate bicycles to local charities both have helped many people while spotlighting my business in a positive way in the local community plus it gave me that warm fuzzy feeling that i did something good. I personally loved doing the bicycles. It was a complete group effort. First year 2 of us got up black friday morning @ 3am to drive 1.5 hours to the local Walmart to buy the bikes first year we were like third in line when the store opened . I grabbed a pallet jack in automotive and snagged a pallet of bikes. From that year forward Walmarts rule was 2 bikes per visit so from that year on we were a 5 man team1 at the bikes one at the trailer 1 in the checkout line and 2 shuttling bikes . Then a week before the giveaway a whole bunch of volunteers came from all over n. California to assemble bikes. One year i had so many that setting the compressors regulator to the correct tire pressure where you didnt have to stop and read the guage still took over an hour just to inflate all the tires. Unfortunately i was donating the bicycles thru Kiwanis and our local chapter disbanded and i had nobody else locally to handle that size of donation. If you really put your mind to it you'll find a need and your niche and as you sow so shall you reap! I truly believe that
